As it is known, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Treaty of Lausanne, on 02.05.2023, through our lawyers, Diakurd submitted a petition to the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey and started the legal process referring to domestic and international legal channels.
The Presidency of the Republic of Turkey did not respond to us in the legal time and clearly rejected our request. For this reason, we took to the administrative court of Turkey.
It should be well known that the Lausanne Treaty has given the Kurdish people nothing but pain, denial and genocide for 100 years. This situation is unacceptable not only by our organization Diakurd but by the entire Kurdish people. The Kurdish people reject the Lausanne Treaty and want to use their right to self-determination. Therefore, this case is a historical case. Not only Diakurd but all the Kurdish people are the prosecutor of this case.
As Diakurd we don’t expect Turkish justice to decide in our favor. But we expect the international public opinion to support the rightful demands of the Kurdish people in addition to registering this injustice and lawlessness.
After the consultation stage of the Supreme Court of the state, we will protect the legitimate rights of the Kurdish people from the stage of the Constitutional Court. We announce in advance that after the domestic legal procedures in Turkey are finished, we will take our case to the United Nation’s Human Rights Committee.
As Diakurd, we call on all political parties, civil society organizations and independent patriots and international community to support this historical cause.
